Bed and breakfast rental in the mountains

Situated in the majestic Vizzavona forest at an altitude of 1000 metres and just a few hundred metres from the GR20 for hiking, trail, and nature lovers, the Casa Alta bed and breakfast has a capacity of 18 people, divided into 3 double rooms for 2 people, some of which can be converted into twin rooms, and 2 family rooms for 4 people each, with the option of adding single beds for adults or children.

In this imposing stone building, renovated in 2008, Vincent, who manages the property and is also an instructor and light aircraft pilot in Ajaccio, and Henry, a nurse by profession with a passion for cooking, welcome you all year round, with an annual closure from December 20 to February 1. The services provided are as follows:

Room rates 0 commission - Home-made breakfasts included

Breakfast is included in the price of the rooms and can be taken in the large communal lounge or on the outdoor terrace surrounded by larricio pines and lime trees. It's Henry's personal touch, and you'll get to taste his pastries, canistrelli, homemade yoghurts, regional honey, and other local specialities.

A map of the world hangs at the entrance, listing all the people who have passed through the Casa Alta guest house and marked their place of origin with a dot. The number of foreign travellers who drop off their suitcases is high, including Belgians, Germans, Dutch, Austrians, and Swiss.

Pets accepted on request. Payment options include cheques, holiday vouchers, cash, and bank transfers. Tourist tax is €0.83 per person per night.

Discounts on stays - Cancellation policy

Casa Alta offers a discount for stays of more than 3 nights and an additional discount for stays of at least one week.

Cancellation charges are 30% (deposit paid at time of booking) for cancellations made more than 7 days before the booking date, 80% for cancellations made less than 6 days before the booking date, and 100% for no-shows.

Rentals in summer and winter

Casa Alta remains open in winter except for the closing period from December 20 to the end of January. Vincent and Henry will provide you with large snowshoes for the snow, as well as hiking and IGN maps. The ski resorts of Ghsioni and Val d'Ese in Bastelica are respectively 1h10 and 1h15 from the B&B.

Forest walks - River and waterfalls

You'll find yourself just 500 metres from Vizzavona station, ideally placed for getting there on foot and taking advantage of the many hiking trails in the area, like the hiker and YouTuber David Laroche, famous for his YouTube channel I Had a Dream, who stopped off at Casa Alta during his GR20 epic.
