The Île Rousse SPAR is open 7/7 and offers Corsican products, general foodstuffs with an organic section and cleaning products all year round. The SPAR has also recently opened a drive-through service.

A food store for a century

Located at number 4 rue Napoléon, 50 meters above the covered market, the Île Rousse SPAR has revived a century-old food store in the town of Paoline.

In 2018, three friends - Pierre-Louis, Nicolas, and Mélanie - originally from the rue Napoléon where the shop is located, decided to revive the establishment to offer a local service to the people of Île Rousse, as well as to visitors and tourists, thereby contributing to the dynamic pedestrian streets of the second-largest town in the Balagne region.

The neighborhood has a village atmosphere, where shopkeepers meet for a drink at the neighboring café or on the terrace of the U Spuntinu restaurant opposite. A friendly, family atmosphere shared by customers and passers-by.

Open all year round 7/7

The Île Rousse SPAR is open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 8 AM to 8 PM. Completely refurbished before reopening in 2018, the mini-market is carefully stocked, with well-supplied shelves lined up with all the products you need for everyday consumption, demonstrating its attention to detail.

Operating under a franchise but independent in its choice of goods, the shop displays Corsican products selected for their quality at the entrance, including biscuits from Zilia and soaps from the Savonnerie du Nebbiu.

Corsican and local products

At the entrance to the shop, you'll find an area reserved for products from Corsica:

• L'Ampugnaninca charcuterie
• Corsican honey
• Canistrelli from the Biscuiterie Maniccia
• Corsican cheese and yogurt
• PDO olive oil
• Pastries: migliaccioli, cajade
• Charles Antona jams
• Corsican wines and spirits

You will also find products from other regions, such as Mr. Turenne's veloutés, with a focus on quality products, some of which are organic. SPAR also offers bread from the Casastolfi bakery in Pietralba (and Corte), as well as Corsican specialties such as migliacci.

Organic products

Since 2020, the shop has expanded its range of organic products, dedicating a section to food products bearing the organic label.

Fruit and vegetables

Fruit and vegetables are mainly from France and Corsica, such as kiwis or Corsican clementines, for seasonal produce. In winter, you will find:

General food, making up the largest part of the shop, caters to your cooking needs.

Tinned food

For practical solutions, you'll find lentils, vegetable macedoine, asparagus, or ratatouille for a Mediterranean touch to your dishes.

Bakery, pastries, chocolate, drinks

The bakery section, perfect for breakfasts and snacks, includes dark chocolate-filled biscuits, Gerblé sesame biscuits, sliced brioche, mini braided brioche with pearl sugar, and Viennese baguettes.

Several dark chocolate bars (70%, 85%, 90% cocoa) are available, as well as chocolate bars like Kinder and Toblerone. Drinks include fruit juices such as Tropicana and Joker, as well as sodas. There's something for every craving, whether sweet or thirst-quenching.

Fresh and frozen

The fresh section offers triangular sandwiches, ready-to-eat salads, Corsican goat or sheep cheeses, yogurt, butter, ham, and cold drinks. In the frozen section, you'll find stir-fried vegetables, frozen fish and meat, as well as ice creams.

Alcohol and spirits

The alcohol section offers whiskies from renowned brands like Chivas and Jack Daniel's. Rums include Havana Club and Don Papa, while liqueurs feature Grand Marnier and Baileys. Aperitifs such as Campari and Martini complete the festive offering, alongside local beers like Pietra Brewery.

Pet food

Dedicated to pets, the shop offers kibble, wet food, and snacks for cats and dogs, including premium brands such as Purina One and Sheba.

Household products

The household section provides a range of essentials like dishwashing liquids, multi-purpose cleaners, and antiseptic gels.

Essential products

The non-food section offers everyday items such as batteries, toiletries, and school supplies, as well as seasonal products like sunscreen or mosquito repellents.

To celebrate their first anniversary in April 2019, the SPAR organized a prize draw, rewarding lucky winners with baskets of Corsican products, announced on their Facebook page.
