Corsica boasts four international airports, two on the eastern side and two on the western side.

Ajaccio

Ajaccio Airport is located on the outskirts of the city. It also handles the main connections between Corsica and the mainland. Its airport code (IATA) is AJA.

Bastia

Bastia Poretta Airport is located south of the Bastia region, in the commune of Lucciana, situated 20 minutes south of Bastia. It handles the main connections. Its IATA code is BIA.

Figari

Figari Airport is also heavily used and rapidly growing, with the commune located 20 minutes from Porto Vecchio and near Bonifacio in the extreme south of the island. Its IATA code is FSC.

Calvi

La Balagne is served by air through Calvi Airport, as well as by sea through the port of Île Rousse. Its IATA code is CLY.

Air Corsica is a Corsican airline headquartered in Ajaccio. It has been in existence since 1989 and was formerly known as CCM (Compagnie Corse Méditerranée) before becoming Air Corsica in 2010. The Corsican airline collaborates with Air France.

Pricing Strategy of a Low-Cost Airline

Some airlines offer round-trip tickets from €50 under conditions: off-season departure, fixed dates, solo travel, and no checked baggage.

The price increases with options such as in-flight consumption or checked baggage (around €30 per trip, or €60-70 round trip). The weight of the luggage can be increased with a corresponding price increase.

Low-cost airline fares vary greatly. In summer, a round trip can cost between €200 and €300, without checked baggage, for distant destinations. The return ticket can be cheaper if the outbound ticket is more expensive.

Tickets are non-refundable and changes can cost approximately €50 per passenger and per trip.

Some airlines offer an annual subscription ranging from €50 to €100, providing reduced fares and some benefits such as the addition of a 10kg baggage allowance.
