Stroll in Aullène
A walk around Aullène
A short hiking trail around Aullène in the Alta Rocca region, through a forest of oak and chestnut trees.
The walk is entirely on foot, forming a loop from the village. It is signposted with green marks on rocks or tree trunks.
You'll reach a plateau at the crossroads of several paths, overlooked by a small chapel dedicated to Saint Antioche.
Chapel of Saint Antioch - Sant'Antiochu
The small chapel, measuring around 60 square metres (5.85 metres by 10 metres), bears an inscription indicating that it was built in 1820. It was restored in 1972 under Mayor Blanchard Lucchini.
The village celebrates the Transfiguration every first Sunday in August, with a procession from the church to the chapel.
A little further down the road, you'll come across a tennis court still in its original state, as well as majestic chestnut trees.
Fauna and Flora
You'll pass through a forest rich in biodiversity, made up mainly of oak, but also pine and chestnut trees.
Chestnut trees under which you might come across a few shy pigs, who feed on chestnuts in autumn, which is also mushroom season.
